AIM for Windows Mobile available for free
We reported back in June that AIM for Windows Mobile was now in beta. Well, the folks at AOL have sent word that it’s now officially out of beta and available as a free download at mobile.aol.com/AIM4WinMo.
The latest version of AIM for Windows Mobile supports both smartphones and touch-screen devices running Windows Mobile 5 and 6 and features status messages, buddy icons, and the option of sending text messages via SMS.
I haven’t had a chance to try this latest version yet but one thing I do like is that they’re making it available as a CAB file. If you’re not familiar with CAB files, this basically means that you can browse to the URL above from your smartphone and download the file directly, without having to connect your Windows mobile device to your computer.
