Teenage Podcaster Camps Out for Jobs-less Apple Keynote

Teenage Podcaster Camps Out for Jobs-less Apple Keynote
You would think the news of a Steve-less Macworld would take the wind out of the event’s sails. But that wasn’t enough to prevent a teenager from camping out in the rain since 6:30 a.m. Monday. "I was a little angry when I heard Steve Jobs wasn’t going to be doing the keynote — since that’s the only reason to come," said 14-year-old Nicholas Lensander, a senior writer at The MacTips Podcast. "But I still think this is important, because this is the last time the public can see Apple at Macworld." Lensander was the only person waiting outside San Francisco’s Moscone Center on Monday for Tuesday morning’s keynote. He said in July, he was also the first in line to buy the iphone 3G at an AT&T Store in Santa Barbara. (Read the full post about ‘Teenage Podcaster Camps Out for Jobs-less Apple Keynote’…)

Rechargeable Heated Insoles keep your toes warm

Rechargeable Heated Insoles keep your toes warm
If these are comfortable, they are by far the greatest invention ever created.  No one likes their toes to be frozen and once they get that way, it’s hard for them to thaw.  Then you’re stuck with cold feet most of the day.  That is unless you manage to sneak a space heater into your workplace.  That won’t really help you while you’re outside either though.  If you are spending the day in the snow with your kids, you could enjoy warm toes, even if the rest of you is frozen. The slow moving Strenco ST-2 Steam Robot

The slow moving Strenco ST-2 Steam Robot
It’s well known that geeks have their love for robots.  Whether it be loving to own/create them or talk about how they’re going to take over the world, we can’t get enough.  Well here’s one more cool robot for us to acquire.  This one doesn’t boast high speeds or any grand functions.  Just a slightly unconventional way of keeping it running.  It doesn’t use AA batteries or even a hand crank.  Instead it’s steam powered. Roku Moves Beyond Netflix, Says Hello To Amazon

Roku Moves Beyond Netflix, Says Hello To Amazon
Roku digital video player is expanding its horizons. The company is moving beyond Netfix and has added Amazon.com as a new partner to its streaming movie service. Amazon.com said Monday its users will be able to rent and watch movies and TV episodes from its Video On Demand store via the Roku digital video player. The Roku player, which costs $100, will allow users to see rented movies and shows anytime on the player itself or online. The move should make the Roku player much more valuable. If Roku can add more partnerships it could put the player a step ahead of competitors. Netflix rival BlockBuster also has a streaming video box, while Apple has had movie rentals available through Apple TV. (Read the full post about ‘Roku Moves Beyond Netflix, Says Hello To Amazon’…)

The iLuv iPhone Dual Dock with weather alerts

The iLuv iPhone Dual Dock with weather alerts
I have one of the later models of iLuv and so far have found it extremely convenient.  Especially since I tend to flake on charging my iPod.  Well now iLuv is offering a new gadget for us to drool over.  This one has found its way to this year’s CES and won’t be out for a few more months, but they at least released a  few details to draw in our interest.  The dock has all the usual convenient speccs but with one extra to sweeten the deal.  One great perk is that  iMM183 will work with both your iphone and ipod at the same time.  That is as long as you have a 4th Gen or later iPod.
